What files will I need to upload for each entry?

Supporting Materials: Photos of related promotional items (e.g., t-shirt); screen grabs of social media posts; photos from events, etc.

Video: If your entry has a video component, upload the video, or provide a URL and password for judges to access it.

Team: List the team members involved in the project.

I'm not sure what category is best for my project. How do I decide?

Use your best judgment! If we think the entry belongs in a different category, we will check and confer with you before changing it. Contact us any time at awards@netaonline.org.

Can I enter a project---or a component of a project---in more than one category?

Yes, please do. Many winners from past years entered in multiple categories. Multiple platforms are the nature of public media.

For video entries -- how do I provide the judges with my video?

You have options:
When you provide the video component on awards entry platform, you can either upload the video file or you can provide the URL to the video. E.g., YouTube, Vimeo, etc. If a password is required to access your video, please be sure you provide that.

I entered my project last year and it didn't win. Can I enter it again?

No. The eligibility period for entries is April 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019.

My station isn't a NETA member, but we are a public television station and we use NETA programs. Are we eligible to enter the Awards competition?

No, sorry. The Awards honor the work of NETA member stations.
We hope you will consider becoming a NETA member! The Awards are just one important part of the station-centered professional development that NETA provides, all year long. We would truly welcome your station as a member.

To join NETA as a full-fledged member, contact Eric Hyyppa, NETA President, by phone 803-978-1581 or email ehyyppa@netaonline.org.

I am an independent co-producer of a program. I am not employed at the station. May I enter my work?

You can enter in the Independent Production category. Your program must have aired on a NETA Member station, please list the station in your entry. If you have questions or are not sure if your partner station is a NETA member, reach out and we can let you know. Email us at awards@netaonline.org.

How and when do I find out if I my station’s entry won?

If you are a finalist, NETA will contact your station's president/CEO by mid-October. Finalists will be notified in time to register for our annual conference where the awards will be presented at the NETA Awards Gala on January 26, 2020 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA..
